Hilarious Cable Info-Bar Description Of The Day: 'Heaven Can Wait'

By Kenny HerzogWelcome back to one of NSCDUV's most beloved daily features, which takes aim at the most confounding, misleading or abruptly hysterical info-bar synopses of the day's cable programming.
And while yesterday's Info-Bar muckup somehow turned Barton Fink into a more surreal misadventure than it already was, today things get tawdry with an early precedent for the suggestion of Satan's sexual duality made prominent decades later in the South Park movie.
Heaven Can Wait
The Actual Story: Don Ameche portrays a playboy desperate for the sinful indulgences of hell upon his death. However, Satan puts him through a thorough review at the gates of hell, as he remains unconvinced of the eager candidate's true nefariousness.
Cable-Info Bar Synopsis: "Satan reviews a Gay '90s New York playboy's life to see if he deserves to go below."
What Their Description Would Have You Believe: Well, A. That the 1978 Warren Beatty flick (and subsequent Chris Rock redux) were both updates of this Heaven. In actuality, the source material for those fantasy romps was Here Comes Mr. Jordan. And, oh, B. That Satan is a bi-curious tranny who assesses the mortal existence of a saucy, swingin' Manhattan homosexual to see if he's got the goods to take in the devil's big red dick. (They set 'em up, I I just... well, you know the rest.)
