Awesome Celebrity Birthday Of The Day: Kenny Loggins

By Kenny HerzogWelcome to one of NCDSUV's favorite daily features, where we acknowledge another turn of the calendar for a member of Hollywood land, even if it's a celebrity who often goes overlooked by the rest of the blogosphere, and regardless of whether we have a huge affinity for their body of work.
And while yesterday we said "OK, fine you're the boss, jeeeez" to ex-pre-pubescent Tony Danza sidekick Danny Pintauro, today we get ourselves in a fine Messina trying to put the icing on the birthday cake for a folk-cum-'80s-radio-rock stalwart.
Kenny Loggins
Age: 60
Why He's Sort Of Awesome: While the "I'm Alright" theme song from Caddyshack is no "Holiday Road" from National Lampoon's Vacation, Kenny Loggins is also no Lindsey Buckingham. That being said, Buckingham wasn't fearless enough to fly into the "Danger Zone" for the Top Gun soundtrack, or to record a late-period album titled Return To Pooh Corner. Also, Loggins has maintained the most impeccable beared this side of George Michael for three decades running. When have you ever seen Lindsey sporting super-awesome facial hair? Oh, that's right, because his name is Lindsey and he's a little girrrrrl.
Most Likely Celebrity Status 20 Birthdays From Now: Still a hot commodity on the soundtrack circuit, the 80-year-old former '70s soft-rock star will record the mega-hit "Die Inside The Nursing Home," an updating of his Top Gun classic, to accompany Tom Cruise's sequel about Maverick and the Iceman's continuing tussle, this time taking place in the wild environs of the Shermak Oaks Retirement Center.
All Apologies To: Nicolas Cage, David Caruso, Katie Couric, Alfonso Soriano, Francisco Rodriguez, Eric Gagne, Rex Lee, Doug E. Doug
