Welcome to NCDSUV's newest daily feature, where we acknowledge another turn of the calendar for a member of Hollywood land, even if it's a celebrity who often goes overlooked by the rest of the blogosphere, and regardless of whether we have a huge affinity for their body of work.
On Monday we ushered in the post-holiday week by blowing out Woody Allen's still blazing (and we're sure, quite virile) candles. Today, we're pouring some sugar on an aging (but we're sure, still quite virile) rocker heartthrob.

Why He's Sort Of Awesome: Fun facts: Rick "Sav" Savage plays the bass with a pick and enjoys golf and interior design! If that's not sort of awesome enough, Sav plays bass for Def Leppard, responsible for some of the best/worst rock anthems of the '80s. Also: Though they rode the hair-band wave, they had enough solid new wave metal roots to get them through the disintegration of the scene better than most. Not to mention other band members' debilitating car accidents, fatal drug and alcohol overdoses and Sav's own case of Bell's Palsy.
Most Likely Celebrity Status 20 Birthdays From Now: At 68, we hope Sav turns in the bass (Def Leppard's latest album is the embarrassingly titled Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, so if they are still "rockin' out," they'll probably be pushing albums like Where I Finally Found My Marbles and Sometimes It Hurts When I Poop. Instead, Sav should pull a Queer Eye on the rest of the band and talk E! Entertainment Television into staging interior design interventions in the lad's presumably wacky, tacky manses.
