Jennifer Hudson's Nephew Believed To Be Found

I never thought I'd refer to TMZ for news of actual import, but they're among the outlets reporting that the body of Jennifer Hudson's nephew, Julian, is believed to have been found.

Up to this point I've refrained from posting about the situation, primarily out of respect, given as NCDSUV won't exactly be the source for breaking information and any larger commentary seemed superfluous and invariably a bit insensitive.

However, since we've gotten specific flack in the past for giving Hudson a hard time over her engagement and music career, it felt worthwhile to express genuine condolence for a moment.

I'm never one to offer disproportionate sympathies to celebrities when tragedies occur to ordinary people every day. But on a purely human level, this is an immensely sad turn of events. Moreover, if this site is going to function as a way to cut famous folks down when it feels warranted, it's only appropriate to balance that with a bit of decency when called for.

This is a fucked up situation, and can't help but bring to mind other notorious Hollywood nightmares like the Manson-Tate murders. And while we might make fun, we obviously respect celebrities' right to safeguarded privacy and recognize that these kinds of tragedies are a sobering reality of their ubiquitous status. So, anyway, we hope they convict whoever turns out to be responsible, and are thoughts our with you Jennifer.
